On a somewhat related note, did anyone see a Nation article entitled "McCain's Kremlin Ties?"

That piece seemes to suggest that JM is serving Russian interests, in a way that makes him either a phony, or boob, or both.

The article in question notes how McCain has ties to people with ties to Kremlin friendly sources.

IMO, this point was stretched a bit. We can be friends, while having other friends, who we don't like. The point being that "guilt" by association isn't always a given.

IMO, the article's examples left question marks (IMO).

Montenegro isn't a "Russian colony." It uses the Euro. In addition, Montenegro's very recent recognition of Kosovo's independence and continued non-recognition of S. Ossetian and Abkhaz independence, serves to show the apparent limits of Russian influence in Montenegro.

In that article, issue can be taken on how Yanukovych is described during the so-called "Orange Revolution."

Bro, your comments as always are insightful and contribute to this blog.

Just want to add a major British newspaper raised the possibility of Osama sabotaging Obama by endorsing him (http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/johann-hari/johann-hari-barack-beware-theyre-out-to-get-you-945294.html0. Very crude reverse psychology but we don't exactly view the electorate with reverence... And that's not going into how the Republicans may use "administrative resources" to further siphon votes from Obama.

Stalker, when commenting on results of your recent poll, I argued that McCain is the best one for Russia. The sad thing, is this is not because he will create or develop something new and progressive, but because he will grant Russia a chance to rise to the US level by continuing to destroy US's economics and diplomacy. Is not this obvious now?

US officials certainly have a talent to lose friends. Whether there was really a need to push Castro to the USSR's hug on his visit to the US soon after he gained power? Carribean crisis came just a few years later.
