I am a student of history and am currently writing an essay on 'was class conflict an important causse of the French revolution?' Your essay if I may call it that was truely informative. Thank you. To add to that it also shed a lot of light on issues not nessisarily pertaining to class divide and economic factors. I myself in hindsight have fallen into the trap of a marxist argument. again thank you.

"It was a revolution primarily inspired and fueled by ideas – not by class conflict."

Thats an interesting conclusion, I agree.

Interesting stuff. I will come back to read it again later. My own impression was always that some sort of pseudo Marxism has become deeply entrenched in the Western and now global way of thinking. There is a tendency to reduce everything to economics and class struggle, to explain extremism by poverty, in short, there is a lot of a very linear, simplistic thinking around. It's really like Karl Marks umer, no delo evo jivet.
