I think it was deindustrialization. The Morgenthau Plan to deindustrialize West Germany had similar disastrous consequences until it was abandoned for fear that the Communists might take over.

Russia has the advantage of being in Europe, which is a source of great social capital spillover. But it is puzzling to see how a society with such high levels of physical and human capital like Russia has such a low (and decreasing) life expectancy. It is a sign that something is going wrong...

Sorry about that, Mark. I added them as I went along, but didn't expect to end up with 8 asterisks!

Another great post. I totally agree on your estimate of Russian-German relations, and see this happening sooner than many other items on the Russian calendar.

Oh, and can you start using superscript notations? All those asterisks are giving me eye-strain :P

LaRouche said the the BRIC coalition is a Rothschild trap as you mentioned orginally concieved by Goldman Sachs in the mid 70's as part of the inter-Alpha groups series of banks which the control BRIC through Brazil which large sections of its economy is based on foreign banks like Banco Santander.

Some of my predictions that I posted in the S/O forum for 2010 have come true or partially true with current developments like what is happeneing in Krygystan might effect Uzbekistan.

1. I was right with the Greece bank collapse and talk about the same thing happening in Hungry and trouble in the Eurozone.

2. I was partially correct about with increased terror attacks in the Caucasus and the Jihad conference held in Tblisi in 2009. The year is not out yet so we will see what happens in the Crimea.

3. Almost with the latest developments in Kyrgyzstan and violence with unrest in the Fergana Valley. Will it spread to Uzbekistan?

4. The Palin one was for 2012 but even now she is being promoted in the Tea Party movement and we still have the Red Dawn remake and the Georgia war movie to come out at the end of the year.

Guess I was wrong with the media attack and Milosevic style subversion although nearly all the media articles have lamented the end of democracy in Ukraine with the election of Yanakovich.

I thought the elections were boring despite the media hype which all three parties seem to have the same view.

5. We will see what happens after the latest aid ship assault by Israel.
