@Anatoly Karlin

I'll post it again with mu comment why it is relevant in the current political climate (although I think it is pretty self evident).

Actually you can delete the "US BNP (British National Party) America Third Position" I thought it was something of significance but it really isn't.

They were only links with no original content, analysis or opinion of your own, and as such was more spam than a springboard for discussion*.

As I already wrote in this thread:

When making "news" posts could you please give us your own interpretation of their significance, something a bit more substantial than "a good interview". Thanks.

Please adhere to these guidelines and your threads will not be deleted.

* The same could be said of US BNP (British National Party) America Third Position, though I decided to leave it.

History thread I posted Fraud, Famine and Fascism The Ukrainian Genocide Myth from Hitler to Harvard disappeared which I posted an article from the 1988 Village Voice article called "In Search of a SOVIET HOLOCAUST A 55-Year-Old Famine Feeds the Right" by Jeff Coplon and a PDF link to the late Douglas Tottle’s very important book “Fraud, Famine and Fascism
The Ukrainian Genocide Myth from Hitler to Harvard” detailed the Nazi/ Hearst fascist origins to the man-made famine narrative.

There is one thing that I think would greatly improve this forum. Add a "preview" option next to the "Send Post" marker. I can't say how many times I have had to post something, see the code errors I have made, and then go back and edit the post.

OK, I made the theme lighter and more in line with the blog design. Enjoy! <img src="http://www.sublimeoblivion.com/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":-)" class="bb_smilies" />

According to the bbPress Video plugin homepage, they support the following formats.

myvideo
funnyordie
collegehumor
dailymotion
sevenload
glumbert
youtube
googlevideo
liveleak
metacafe
clipfish
gametrailers
Vidmeo

I'll try to investigate why G Video isn't working

*EDIT* So it embeds the Google Video, but doesn't actually seem to able to play it. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about this until that plugin gets updated or I find a better one.

*EDIT 2* Furthermore, I don't think it's that important to be able to embed very long videos. It's not as if most people will bother watching it from the forum itself, it makes more sense to go to Google Video itself where you have more options like Full Screen.

I tried to post a Google video of the documentary Yugoslavia: The Avoidable War in the Balkans Wars thread but I don't think you have the plug in to play Google videos on you're forum so I just posted the YouTube video link.

In the future will the forum support Google video as it has the advantage of having over an hour worth of video in a single video stream and not being split into 10 minute segments like YouTube.

Thank you for the feedback, zmoreira. It is very much appreciated.

1) Unlike in many other forums, in bbPress the recent discussions are prominently featured at the top of the main page, which largely eliminates the problems of having many forums while the community is still small. I seriously considered limiting the amount of forums during the early stages, but ultimately decided against because I know that once the community grows larger and requires more forums, I would then have to manually shift all the prior topics to their respective more-specific forums.

2) The color scheme is from the bbPress "Options" template, I didn't make any significant changes to it (the reason I chose this template is because they have a functioning header menu, which would otherwise require a lot of coding). Re- the colors, I could edit the style.css file to make it lighter and more consistent with the look of the blog - and I do plan to do this eventually - but it would take some time, several hours I could otherwise devote to the blog or book.

I am somewhat surprised that you find this color pattern difficult to read, since the contrast between white text and dark background is quite marked. I will keep this complaint in mind however, and would also like to take the opportunity to inquire as to whether other readers also find the visual format, white text on dark background, unpleasing? Should there be a significant demand for change to the more conventional dark text on light background format, I will put redesigning the forum further up on my list of priorities.

Again, thanks for the constructive criticism.

I am a frequent visitor to Sublime Oblivion and I'm happy that you decided to start these forums. I don't enjoy the other forums that I know about these subjects, so I wish the best luck for this one.

Here are some first impressions:

a) There are too many forums. I have run forums before and I made the same mistake. It's better to star with fewer forums and only add new ones when and if needed. Creating new forums is only justified after the volume of active topics makes it impractical to be aware of what is being currently debated. (I think...)

b) The colours look nice. And damn hard to read. At the end of a work day maybe my eyes will rebel and demand something easier to read. Also the theme not consistent with the look of the blog. I think it would be better if there were visual coherence.
